What is Mead?
A unique alcoholic beverage composed of two ingredients – water and honey – is considered to be the first drink ever to be made through alcoholic fermentation. Honey’s natural sugars cause the mixture to be slowly fermented in its barrel for 12 to 18 months. The result? A medley of citrus, thyme, and heather taste with a characteristic sweet hue and reddish colour.
